World Cup fever sudah mari!

K, the only realistic people this World Cup season in my household is me and my dad.

I, for one, am rooting for Argentina. Because Messi scored all those four goals against Arsenal in the recent UEFA Cup. Oh that magical little wonder. I'm all up for Argentina. My second choice would be England, coz there's such much at their table right now and they haven't won the World Cup since the 60s. Hm. Well that's what they said on the last World Cup. My dad, the other logical half of the household, is rooting for Brazil and Spain. Okay, logical choice. Brazil has some fresh and versatile talents, Spain is strong in all sides. I'm a big fan of Casillas. Here's the clip of the goals aganst Arsenal.

Now moving on. My Brother goes on and on supporting Paraguay. Some of you might be thinking, is Paraguay even in the World Cup? Yes, they are. My brother did his research. Personally I think they got a shot up to the quarter finals. They're in Group along with Slovakia, New Zealand, and of course the defending champs Italy. Good Luck Santa Cruz. Yes, those words are from my brother.

I can't find a decent video of Paraguay scoring at least 4 goals, so here's the flag.

It seems like everyone is rooting for at least two teams in every World Cup. usually one underdog, and one fairly formidable team. Well try telling that to my brother. His second team is Ghana. Huh.. always rooting for the little guy. I don't wanna burst anyone's bubbles so I let him be happy with his choice. At least Boateng is in Ghana. hmm. He plays for Portsmouth, the worst team in the English Premier League this year.

Maybe a miracle would happen this year?

My mum isn't really a football fan. She screams at the TV when a player looked at somebody with evil eyes. I think that's explanation enough. But it's hard to escape the lure of the World Cup right? everyone must have a team! I've heard people supporting a team because the strikers are good looking, the jerseys are nice, the coach looks like a good guy. But no, not my mother. She's on the side of Cameroon.

"Pernah kuat bah dorang tu dulu!"

Yeaaaahh. she's referring to the 2002 World Cup. She witnessed the victory of Cameroon over Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia lost 8-0 to Germany that year. I am now more confused with women. She doesn't even have a second team. I'm going to infiltrate her head with ideas of supporting Argentina! hehe. But for sure my dad is going to buy her a Brazil/Spain jersey. Oh well.

Whatever it is, no matter if you're supporting the underdogs or any of the top dogs, have fun watching the beautiful game with whoever is sitting beside you be it a fellow supporter or a leech from the other team. It is a sport of unity after all. Just remember when you see Argentina kicking ass live, I'm celebrating somewhere. Cheers to the game! Gonna leave you with the official theme song of The World Cup, Wavin' Flag by K'Naan. Celebration remix baby! yeaaaah. Go download go!
